I follow MLS fairly closely (though my true allegiances lie in North London) and I saw this article posted. I noticed that the player used to be at Leeds, my dad's team. I showed it to my dad and he liked catching up on him. I don't know the story, but I thought you guys might appreciate it, as well.
Sky Sports believes that Leeds United have made an official approach for right back Lee Peltier. United's interest in the Leicester defender has been well known all summer and should Leeds see off rival interest from Huddesfield, Peltier could become the final addition to Warnock's first choice defence for next season.
Neil Warnock made two more signings for the club today after striker Andy Gray and goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown agreed to put pen to paper on permanent deals. More to follow on the site later.
Neil Warnock On The Transfer Update:
"We're a bit thin. As we talk there could be two within the next 24 hours. We're doing medicals on Monday afternoon so there's more news on the horizon.
We've got one down with us and one of the lads is having a medical at Thorp Arch and if that goes well we'll complete that one."
On The Trip To Cornwall:
"It's a matter of blending the lads we've got in. The weather is great and I'm sure our fans will enjoy it this week. The lads are relaxed and they will work very, very hard which is what it's about at this stage.
Both games are on decent pitches, they're not far away, it's like a carnival night for them. It's nice to put a bit back into Cornwall. It's amazing we sold the tickets we did at Torquay - and Tavistock and Bodmin are two great clubs and I'd ask our fans to behave and they'll have a great time."
Aidan White On His New Three Year Deal:
"It's fantastic to get everything sorted. I've been at the club since I was eight and I didn't want to leave. I came back in pre-season wanting to stay.
I spoke to the manager who said he wanted me to stay and that we would try and get things done this week. That was a real positive and I'm looking to crack on for the season now.
I've spoken with the gaffer about how he sees things position-wise and I think he sees that attacking role, but also that I can play full back if needed.
He's said to me to try and make an impact and that's what I'm looking to do. He'd talked about me being a part of his plans which was great and I don't think it was ever a case of him wanting me to go. He has a great record as a manager and hopefully he can take us into the Premiership.
Having been here such a long time, the aim is to do well here and for us to get to the Premiership. The gaffer has the experience, the squad he is building is more than capable, and hopefully it will be an exciting season."
Strong Squad Expected For First Pre-Season Game
Neil Warnock on the Farsley Game:
"I want them to work hard. They'll be training Friday morning as well.
It's not a rest and a game, it'll be like the second training session of the day.
Ideally, if I can I'll give everyone half a game that's what I'd like to do, but we'll have to wait and see who plays.
There might be one or two little niggles we want to rest and we go away next week as well for three games, but if I can I want to try and use as many as I can."
Rumours were beginning to build that Robert Snodgrass was set to be on the move to Aston Villa but it's Paul Lambert's former club who Sky Sports believe have made a bid for Leeds United's captain. Should a bid be accepted, Norwich could be set to land their second Leeds United captain in a matter of months. More to follow on the site later.
Four of Neil Warnock's current squad could depart before the season kick off's with Robert Snodgrass, Aidan White, Andy Lonergan and Ross McCormack all being linked with moves away from the club. Captain Snodgrass is attracting the interest of Paul Lambert at Aston Villa while Neil Lennon has confirmed his interest in out of contract Aidan White. Andy Lonergan continues to be linked with a move to Bolton however Ipswich are also thought to be interested. Finally last season's top scorer Ross McCormack has been linked with a number of clubs including Huddersfield, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Brighton in a deal which is rumoured to involve Craig Mackail-Smith going the other way.
