Morison: Celebrating his brace on Saturday - Clive Rose
Steve Morison and Chris Dawson have both been called up for international duty for the forthcoming Wales fixtures.
The striker was named in Chris Coleman’s Wales squad on Wednesday lunchtime despite being taken off with a calf injury in last nights 1-1 draw with Peterborough at Elland Road.
This is Morison’s first call-up as a Leeds player and his two goals against Crystal Palace last Saturday may have made Coleman’s decision to include the 29 year-old striker an easy one. Wales face qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia in must win games.
Hot prospect Dawson is in line to win his second cap the Under-21 squad, having been named in Geraint Williams’ team for the visit of Moldova in the UEFA qualifying match in Llanelli on Friday March 22.
Dawson has earned rave reviews from Richard Naylor and Neil Redfearn for the Leeds U21’s this season and there has been calls from the United fans for him to be selected in the first team for the remaining ten games of the season.
Ross McCormack (Scotland) and Rodolph Austin (Jamaica) have already received for call-ups for the forthcoming international fixtures.
