After yesterday's impressive victory over Tottenham Hotspur it's back to reality as Max Gradel has ruled out a return to the club - hey who we were kidding!!!
Last week, Yorkshire Evening Post writer Phil Hay caused a frenzy after he revealed that his sources believed Leeds had made inquiries about Gradel's availability.
With the news reaching the thousands on the same day as Becchio's transfer request - many thought it was a PR ploy from the club to cover up their tracks.
Well after all it turns out this wasn't the case and Leeds did ask about bringing Max back - the problem being he wants to stay in France.
Speaking to the BBC, Gradel said:
"I saw some news saying that I was coming back. I know they tried to speak to my agent about coming back but as much as I love and respect Leeds and the fans, who have been fantastic. Football wise, I have to try to improve and move on.
"I love Leeds and I hope one day I will come back but right now, I am in the top league and I want to move forward and play Champions League football.
"Leeds are in the Championship right now and footballing wise, I can`t go back to Leeds, but you never know, things move quickly and I might be back at Leeds one day."
So with Max staying abroad, Leeds are still on the look out for new signings - and it appears that Reading's Kaspars Gorkss is on the radar.
According to Skysports, United are considering a move for the centre-back after he fell down the pecking order at the Premier League side. The 31-year-old hasn't featured for the Royals since their defeat to Arsenal in December, and it's already known that manager Neil Warnock is a fan of Gorkss following his spell with QPR.
