Leeds take French Defender on Trial

Stay connected for news and updates

After a number of online rumours with a mysterious trialist - it seems that it could be SC Bastia defender Francois Marque.

An online Twitter debate was sparked into action when a training photo seemed to show a random man training with the squad, with certain fans suggesting it could be Marque.

The French club's website confirmed that the defender is on trial with Neil Warnock's side and was due to play in a squad development game, which fell victim to the snow.

It's thought that Warnock will want to keep hold of the defender to see him in action before making a final decision.

Marque has experience with a number of clubs across Europe with his first spell coming at FC Basel in 2007. In 2010 he joined FC Grenoble before joining SC Bastia last season - where they won the Ligue 2 title.

The 29-year-old hasn't featured for Bastia since November when he was given a red card and it remains to be seen whether Neil Warnock is willing to take a punt on the defender.
