Wolves head to Elland Road today and below the jump are some pre-match quotes ahead of the lunchtime kick off.
Warnock on the Wolves clash, speaking to the Official Website:
"I can't wait. It's going to be great isn't it? We'll have a fabulous crowd and all I'd ask is that they get behind us. Which I know they will. The support we had in pre-season was fantastic, and I'm sure this will be the same.
We will go about our business as we do. I thought I was getting to know the fans here - they've been brilliant with me and the team - but the crowds in pre-season have surpassed even what I thought.
I was telling the players when we trained at Elland Road last week that there'd be 10,000 here for the Shrewsbury game then someone came over and said there would be 16,000, and we had 18,000.
We're where we are. We haven't got any excuses and we should all be optimistic. We've got some good players, good staff and we will give everything we've got.
I read the local paper this week and one or two people were saying we wouldn't finish in the top six. It was doom and gloom. They were talking about what we would do etc. I remember signing Paddy Kenny, Clint Hill, and Shaun Derry at QPR and they were terrible signings weren't they?
This is a game we're looking forward to. The first couple of months look tough for us, but you don't win leagues on paper. Wolves are a good team for us to start with. They have some good players and a good following. It's their manager's first game as well, it's on television, and it's got all the ingredients."
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post:
"We were hoping for one of the relegated teams. It's great to get a fabulous crowd and be on television as well. It's got all the ingredients. I think Wolves along with Blackburn and Bolton will be favourites after coming straight down.
They've got a decent squad and a good following. It's a nice atmosphere at Molineux. When I saw the fixture list I thought it was ironic. It's their manager's first game in the Championship too and it should be interesting TV viewing."
"He's one of the most experienced managers in English football and I've seen his teams before. I don't think I'm being disrespectful to say he's quite direct in his style of play.
His trademark is that he gets good results and last time he was in the Championship he got QPR promoted so I've got great respect for him. But we're going there to get three points."
"They're a good side, and I think they are an aggressive, direct side.
They have two good strikers, a good midfield combination with Rodolph Austin and the captain (David Norris) in the centre of the park.
I saw their 2-1 defeat to Leicester on the last game of the season, so I remember some of the players. They’ve obviously added quite a few also."
This is the sort of match you want to begin with, the ideal start. I'd imagine that Wolves will be up there and all three teams who've come down are going to be decent. I'd be surprised if any of them aren't involved.
I think we know what we're going to get from Wolves - a lot of players are still there from the Premier League - and we've no reason for being caught out. All of us will be bang up for it, both sides. The first day of the season is always like that."
