Leeds United defender Tom Lees should be ready to play in the opening day fixture against Wolves according to boss Neil Warnock.

Lees missed last week's 4-0 win against Shrewsbury due to a groin injury and Lee Peltier took his place at the heart of the defence.

Warnock welcomed Lees back into training on Thursday, as well as midfielder David Norris who was carrying a knock.

Speaking to the club's official site, Warnock said:

"Leesy should be ok, hopefully we'll have him for a full session on Thursday. I'm hoping Norris will as well. They both looked a bit doubtful last weekend, but I'm hoping they will be okay.

"There's no other problems."

Controversial midfielder El-Hadji Diouf will have to wait for permanent contracts talks as Warnock confirmed that he will sit down with the former Liverpool man next week.

The Senegalese international joined last week on a non-contract basis and played a brief appearance against Shrewsbury on Saturday. Diouf will now have to decide if he wants to play a part in this week's game against Wolves due to his contract agreement, before speaking to Warnock next week.

Warnock said:

"We'll probably talk to his people on Monday. He may be involved at the weekend if he's happy with that. He's on a non-contract basis so he is available.

"He's certainly enjoying himself, he's fitted in, the lads have taken to him and I think he was pleased with the support he received on Saturday. He even went home from the train station afterwards and I said to him 'you're brave'!"
