Leeds United's attempt to complete the signing of Joel Ward may have hit a snitch after it emerged that two new clubs have entered the race for the Portsmouth player.
Ward is now set to decide over the weekend about his next move, with Burnley, Ipswich and Crystal Palace also interested.
Sheffield Wednesday despite being recently promoted will probably have the power to offer Ward more money than Leeds. While Blackpool may be able to offer Premier League football if they win on Saturday in the Championship play-off final.
The transfer of Ward will command a fee of around £450,000,, despite Pompey fans wanting more for the utility player.
This news is typical of Leeds United, Ward will probably be waiting to see if Blackpool get promoted before deciding his future. Leeds do have the advantage that Ward's close mate Jason Pearce joined United earlier in this month.
So once again Leeds fans will play the waiting game with incoming players, Warnock wanted one or two in by the end of next week and at this rate it's not looking good.
